WARROAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – In December, the Bengtson family of Warroad, Minnesota, marked their son Blake’s third birthday, an event that was nearly overshadowed by a critical incident the previous year.
During a visit to the boys’ state hockey tournament in St. Paul, Blake experienced a seizure lasting over three hours. Medical examinations revealed the presence of methamphetamine in his system, suggesting exposure within the hotel room where the family stayed. Law enforcement and social services were notified; however, subsequent searches of the hotel room did not yield conclusive evidence due to the time elapsed and prior cleaning.
Following the incident, Blake returned to Warroad and has shown no lasting health issues. The family has since emphasized the necessity for parents to conduct thorough inspections of temporary accommodations and to utilize cleaning supplies to mitigate potential hazards.
Legal discussions with the hotel have concluded without further action. The Bengtsons aim to raise awareness about the risks of inadvertent drug exposure in children, noting that even minimal contact with substances like methamphetamine can lead to severe health emergencies.
