BURKE COUNTY FATAL CRASH

What: Fatal crash

Where: 10200 Block of 82nd Avenue NW, 5 miles west of Flaxton

When: Wednesday, November 4, 9:15 p.m. Central time

Road Conditions: Dry

Weather Conditions: Clear

Crash Involvement: Vehicle/Train

Type of Crash: T-bone

Agencies Involved: North Dakota State Patrol, Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Lignite Fire Department, Portal Ambulance

Vehicle No. 1: 2020 Ram 3500
Driver No. 1: Male, 62, Lignite, fatal injuries
Restraints: Seatbelt in use

NARRATIVE: On Wednesday, November 4 at approximately 9:15 p.m., a Ram 3500 was traveling south on 82nd Avenue Northwest when it struck a moving eastbound train at a passive crossing. The driver of the Ram 3500 died at the scene. No one on the train was injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol.
