VALLEY CITY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A 48-year-old man from Valley City was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 26, after allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers during an arrest prompted by an active felony warrant, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.
David Compson is currently held at the Barnes County Correctional Center, facing charges including two counts of assault on a peace officer, terrorizing, and resisting arrest.
Authorities located Compson in a vehicle at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday. A state trooper and a Valley City police officer removed him from the vehicle to execute the arrest for the outstanding warrant. During the process, Compson resisted and allegedly assaulted both officers.
The state trooper and the police officer sustained minor injuries in the incident.
