FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A fatal confrontation occurred early Saturday morning in Fargo. The incident started just after 2:15 a.m., when police were dispatched to a report of an aggravated assault and shooting in the 5500 block of 36th Avenue South.
Responding officers learned that the suspect chased the victim into an occupied neighboring unit, where shots were fired. An occupant in this unit was hit by gunfire, and two people were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The FLOCK camera system helped determine which direction the suspect went, leading police to find the vehicle on the side of the road in the 800 block of 34th Street North.
A Red River Valley SWAT team’s armored Bearcat was used to get close and attempt contact with the suspect but received no response. A regional drone team was called in for a closer look, and officers found the suspect dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
