POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — An East Grand Forks man, Richard Franklin Jackson, 54, waived his omnibus hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and entered a plea of not guilty to two felony charges of second-degree sale of a controlled substance in a prohibited zone.
According to court documents, Jackson was found in possession of 14 10mg oxycodone pills and a pipe containing methamphetamine residue at his residence. The property, located within one block of two local schools, qualifies for enhanced penalties under Minnesota law.
If convicted, Jackson could face a maximum sentence of 25 years. However, sentencing guidelines suggest a range of four to nine years based on his criminal history.
Jackson’s next court appearance, a pre-trial hearing, is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 14.
