ST. PAUL (trfnews.i234.me) — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating an incident where St. Paul police fatally shot a man on Saturday afternoon, November 9. Police were responding to a report about a man suspected of involvement in a recent St. Paul homicide.
Around 1 p.m., officers received a call identifying a 36-year-old man near a laundromat on West Seventh Street. This individual was allegedly charged in the fatal shooting of his pregnant ex-wife. While surveilling, officers received additional reports of the man seen on a bicycle nearby. As police approached to confirm his identity, the man reportedly displayed a handgun, prompting officers to discharge their weapons, striking him. He was transported to Regions Hospital, where he later died.
Body cameras worn by the officers were active during the incident. The officers involved are now on administrative leave, and a full investigation is underway.
