POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) -An East Grand Forks woman pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to conspiracy to commit a first-degree controlled substance crime. Crystal Lea King, 43, faces a maximum sentence of 30 years. With a criminal history score of four, state sentencing guidelines recommend 105 months in prison, with a range of 90 to 126 months.

Under a proposed plea agreement, King would serve 80 months in prison. This reduction from the guideline recommendation accounts for her cooperation with law enforcement and her minor role in the offense, according to the plea agreement.

Court documents revealed that King sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant in a controlled buy involving 3.7 grams of the substance. Text messages linked her to Conner Douglas Anderson and Todd Jonas Hicks. Anderson transported methamphetamine across state lines and was sentenced to 86 months in July. Hicks, identified as the supplier, received a 95-month sentence in March.

King’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 9.
