GRAND FORKS, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A man is facing several charges after a stabbing at a homeless shelter in Grand Forks. According to the police report, an argument led to the victim being stabbed on the 5th floor of Northlands Rescue Mission just before 7:45 Friday morning. The victim was taken to Altru Hospital with stab wounds.
Following the incident, witnesses identified Moses Ayom as the suspect involved in the stabbing and also implicated him in stealing a pickup from a worksite near the shelter. Police tracked the vehicle using GPS and pursued it through Grand Forks County before spike strips were used to deflate both back tires of the truck.
The pursuit continued into Walsh County where additional spike strips deflated the front tires, leading Ayom to crash at an intersection involving North Dakota Highways 18 and 17. The driver was not injured but was arrested for vehicle theft, fleeing reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
A review by the Grand Forks County Attorney’s Office is considering charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault against Moses Ayom in connection with the stabbing incident at the homeless shelter.
