Grand Forks Man Pleads Not Guilty to Three Felony Charges

GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) — A man from Grand Forks has waived his preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to three felony charges. The individual, identified as Dhuuh Mohamed Hassan, aged 50, was charged with attempted gross sexual imposition using force (Class A felony), felonious restraint (Class C felony), and aggravated assault (Class C felony).

The Class A felony carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.

Law enforcement responded to an apartment complex for a reported physical domestic incident on September 18. According to the affidavit, Hassan was observed holding a woman down on the floor while partially nude.

Hassan allegedly forced himself on the woman in his apartment and attempted to remove her clothes despite her repeated refusals. The victim stated that she said no multiple times before being physically attacked and restrained by Hassan.

A final dispositional conference has been scheduled for January 23 at 1:30 pm. Hassan is currently being held at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center on a $500,000 cash or surety bond.
