VALLEY CITY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A fire occurred at an apartment complex located at 215 6th Ave SW in Valley City, North Dakota.
The Valley City Fire Department was alerted to several smoke and fire calls from Viking Manor at approximately 12:36 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival, first responders reported heavy smoke coming from every unit of the building.
Several individuals were awaiting rescue on their balconies while two others had jumped down to avoid the fire.
Fire personnel found one female victim inside the building who was removed and taken control by Barnes County Ambulance personnel.
Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene.
The North Dakota Fire Marshall and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation have joined the investigation into the cause of the fire.
Their involvement is not due to any suspicion but rather as additional tools in determining what happened during the incident.
