GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — Robert Barrett Yahnke, 60, waived his preliminary hearing on October 21 and pleaded not guilty to six felony charges related to methamphetamine sales. The charges include two Class A felonies: delivery of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine and possession of at least 50 grams with intent to deliver.
Yahnke’s remaining four charges are Class B felonies, consisting of three counts of methamphetamine possession with intent to deliver and one count of methamphetamine delivery. The maximum sentence for a Class A felony is 20 years in prison.
According to an affidavit filed in the case, law enforcement began investigating Yahnke on April 23 for suspected drug dealing in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. Over the next month, they conducted five controlled buys where Yahnke allegedly sold approximately 137.8 grams of methamphetamine.
On June 10, when Yahnke was pulled over, he was found to have an additional 96 grams of methamphetamine. His final dispositional conference is scheduled for January 16 at 1:30 p.m.
