Resident Reports Man Yelling Near Railroad Tracks

Police responded to a report of a man yelling near the 23340 block of 140th Avenue.

According to court documents, an officer encountered Ronald Habedank standing along the roadway with a flashlight.

Habedank told police he had been awakened by someone yelling outside.

When he investigated, he reportedly discovered a man lying on railroad tracks and shouting.

Habedank guided the responding officer through a wooded area toward the railroad tracks.

They traveled approximately 75 yards south before locating the man beside the tracks.

Police Attempt to Communicate With Man

According to the complaint, the officer found the man lying near the railroad tracks.

The officer attempted to determine his identity and whether he needed help.

Police also asked whether he could stand or walk.

However, the man reportedly continued yelling without acknowledging the questions.

Based on his behavior, the officer suspected possible impairment involving an illegal substance.

Additional law enforcement personnel and emergency medical services were called to assist.

Officers Discover Light Bulbs Near Railroad Tracks

Emergency responders eventually helped the man stand.

According to the complaint, officers then noticed two light bulbs on the ground where he had been sitting.

The reporting officer noted that light bulbs can be used as devices for ingesting illegal drugs.

The complaint does not establish whether either light bulb contained a controlled substance.

Responders placed the man in an ambulance for medical evaluation.

He was transported to Mahnomen Health Center.

Medical Staff Find Suspected Methamphetamine

At the hospital, medical personnel located a Wisconsin identification card in the man’s pocket.

He was identified as Daniel Glen Reamer.

According to court documents, hospital staff also discovered a plastic bag containing a clear crystalline substance.

The bag was recovered from Reamer’s person.

Investigators collected the substance and forwarded it to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for testing.

BCA Testing Confirms Methamphetamine

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension completed its analysis of the recovered material.

According to a laboratory report dated June 30, 2026, the substance was confirmed as methamphetamine.

The confirmed weight was 0.717 grams.

Those laboratory findings became part of the evidence supporting the criminal charge.

The complaint does not allege that Reamer was selling methamphetamine during the incident.

Previous Drug Convictions Cited

According to court records, Reamer was convicted of third-degree drug possession in a school zone on June 18, 2026.

The complaint also lists two previous Wisconsin felony methamphetamine possession convictions.

Those cases were filed in Pierce County and Eau Claire County.

Prosecutors cited the prior convictions as part of Reamer’s criminal history.

The prior cases are separate from the current Mahnomen County allegation.
