Shauna Lea Kamrowski is accused of choking a household member during a September 30, 2026, confrontation.

According to a Polk County criminal complaint, the alleged victim reported being choked several times during an argument.

Investigators also documented bruising on the alleged victim’s neck.

Police later reported that Kamrowski provided a preliminary breath sample showing an alcohol concentration of .326.

Police Respond to Domestic Disturbance

East Grand Forks police responded to a reported domestic disturbance around 9:52 p.m. on September 30.

The call brought officers to a residence on Sixth Street Northeast.

According to court documents, officers heard Kamrowski and another person arguing as they approached the home.

A neighbor also reported hearing the argument.

Police observed a case of beer outside the residence before knocking on the door.

Kamrowski answered and allowed officers inside.

Investigators reported noticing a strong smell of alcohol inside the home and on Kamrowski.

Both Parties Report Physical Confrontation

During the initial conversation, Kamrowski reportedly told police that the other person had pushed and punched her.

According to the complaint, officers did not observe visible bruises or marks on Kamrowski.

While police continued speaking with her, the other person began yelling from upstairs.

The alleged victim, identified in court documents as D.S., claimed Kamrowski had choked him.

He reportedly told police he pushed Kamrowski away to stop the alleged assault.

An officer went upstairs to investigate those allegations.

Man Reports Being Choked Four Times

According to the criminal complaint, D.S. described an argument involving concerns about substance use.

He said the confrontation began while both people were sitting on a couch.

The argument reportedly escalated after they stood up.

D.S. alleged Kamrowski attempted to choke him four times during the confrontation.

He reported that two of those incidents restricted his breathing.

During his statement, D.S. reportedly demonstrated the choking motion using both hands.

He also alleged that Kamrowski had assaulted him previously.

Officers Document Neck Bruising

Investigators reported observing bruising along the left side of D.S.’s neck.

According to the complaint, officers photographed those injuries as part of their investigation.

After speaking with D.S., police returned downstairs and informed Kamrowski she was under arrest.

Officers placed her in handcuffs and transported her to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.

A preliminary breath sample taken during the investigation reportedly showed an alcohol concentration of .326.

The breath result was documented in the complaint but is not listed as a separate criminal charge.
