Two Killed, One Critically Hurt in Willmar Shooting
Willmar (trfnews.i234.me) — Two young men were killed in a shooting at Rau Park Monday night.
A third man suffered critical injuries, according to the Willmar Police Department.
Police were called to the park around 8 p.m. on September 21.
The shooting happened near the 1000 block of 7th Street Northwest.
Dispatchers initially reported that two or three people may have been injured.
Two Victims Taken by Ambulance
Officers and emergency medical crews found two wounded men at the scene.
Police identified them only by age because family notifications were still being completed.
One victim was 19 years old and the other was 20.
Both men were from Willmar.
Emergency crews provided lifesaving care before taking both men to a Willmar hospital.
One of the men was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
The other man was later flown to St. Cloud Hospital.
Police said he remained in critical condition at the time of publication.

Third Victim Arrived in Personal Vehicle
A third victim was taken to the Willmar hospital in a personal vehicle.
That victim was a 19-year-old Willmar man.
Police said he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The names of the two men killed were not immediately released.
Police said the delay would allow time to notify their families.
Police Say Shooting Was Not Random
Officers secured Rau Park while investigators began collecting statements from witnesses.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension crime lab was called to assist at the scene.
The BCA provides forensic and investigative support to law enforcement agencies across Minnesota.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation.
Police said their early investigation indicates the shooting was an isolated incident.
Investigators also said they do not believe the shooting was random.
Authorities said there was no known ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains active, and additional details may be released later.
