The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 7 AM this morning to 9 PM CDT
this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zones 002, 015, 016, 017, 022,
and 023.
* WIND…Sustained winds to 20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.
* HUMIDITY…Relative humidity as low as 25%.
* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A significant wind shift is expected
starting around midday as a cold front traverses the region.
Winds will initially be from the south before shifting to the
west. There will be a brief lull in wind gusts after the front
passes before winds rapidly increase once more in the afternoon.
