Frazee Man Charged After Major Meth Seizure

Frazee (trfnews.i234.me) — Steven Lee Larson faces a major felony drug charge in Becker County.

Prosecutors charged Larson with aggravated first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

The case is filed as 03-CR-26-1786 in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District.

The charge follows an investigation into suspected methamphetamine distribution during 2026.

Investigation Leads to Traffic Stop

According to the complaint, state investigators began looking into Larson earlier this year.

A confidential informant allegedly reported seeing Larson with a large quantity of methamphetamine.

Investigators later tracked Larson’s pickup truck and cellphone on August 31.

The truck was found stopped on a Becker County road.

A trooper responded and found a black Chevrolet Silverado blocking the southbound lanes.

A woman was driving, while Larson was identified as the passenger.

The complaint says a marijuana joint was visible inside the vehicle.

Larson was asked to step from the pickup.

During a protective search, authorities allegedly found a large bag near Larson’s waistband.

Larson allegedly told the trooper that the bag contained methamphetamine.

The substance weighed about 266 grams and field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Authorities also reported finding cocaine, additional methamphetamine, marijuana, and a digital scale.

About $1,702 in cash was also seized from Larson, according to the complaint.

Larson later agreed to speak with investigators after receiving a Miranda warning.

He allegedly admitted buying methamphetamine and cocaine since November 2025.

The complaint says Larson described purchasing large quantities from a supplier.

Larson allegedly said he sold drugs to people in at least four counties.

He also told investigators more methamphetamine was inside his Frazee residence.

Investigators obtained a warrant and searched Larson’s home later that day.

They reported finding 464 grams of methamphetamine behind a dryer.

Additional methamphetamine was allegedly found elsewhere inside the residence.

A digital scale containing residue was also seized, according to the complaint.

Prosecutors allege several aggravating factors apply to the case.

Those claims include a prior violent-crime conviction and alleged drug activity across several counties.

Prosecutors also cite the quantity of drugs and alleged evidence of large-scale distribution.

The complaint lists a mandatory minimum sentence of 86 months if convicted as charged.

The law allows a maximum sentence of 40 years.

The complaint also lists a possible fine of up to $1 million.

The charge is an allegation and does not establish guilt.

Larson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
