Walker Teen’s Death Ruled Homicide Near Cass Lake
Cass Lake, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 17-year-old Walker boy died from a gunshot wound in rural Cass Lake.
Authorities have ruled the teenager’s death a homicide.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said an autopsy confirmed the cause and manner of death.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office completed the autopsy.
The teenager’s name has not been released by authorities.
Homicide Investigation Continues
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active.
No arrests have been announced in connection with the teenager’s death.
Investigators are working with several law enforcement agencies on the case.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department is also assisting.
The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force is also involved in the investigation.
Teen Found Outside Rural Cass Lake Home
The case began Sunday, September 13, at about 7:57 a.m.
Deputies received an ambulance request from Leech Lake Tribal Police.
The call involved a person who was possibly dead near John Moose Drive Northwest.
The location is in Pike Bay Township, near rural Cass Lake.
Medical crews and law enforcement officers responded to the property.
They found a male dead in the yard of a residence.
Authorities later identified the person as a 17-year-old boy from Walker.
The Minnesota State Patrol also helped with the initial investigation.
