Aaron Jones' Return to Lambeau: Former Packers Star Faces Old Team as a Viking

EAGAN, Minn. — Running back Aaron Jones has quickly embraced his new role with the Minnesota Vikings, but his upcoming return to Lambeau Field, where he spent seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, brings back strong memories. “I’m definitely excited to go back. That’s where it all started for me,” said Jones, as he prepares for the Vikings’ clash with the Packers.

Jones, who was drafted by the Packers in 2017, exceeded expectations as a fifth-round pick and became a key player for Green Bay, helping them to multiple NFC North titles and two NFC Championship appearances. His standout performances made him a fan favorite, a status he’s already earning in Minnesota.

Now, as he gears up to face his former team, Jones enters the game following a 100-yard rushing performance and tops the Vikings in all-purpose yards. “I wanted to hit the ground running as soon as Week 1 came,” Jones said.

While Jones has fond memories of Green Bay, there’s no doubt that he’ll have extra motivation when he steps onto Lambeau Field as a visitor for the first time.
