Vinnie Shahid Signs in Germany for 5th Pro Season

Former North Dakota State men’s basketball standout Vinnie Shahid has signed in Germany’s top league for his fifth professional season.
 
Shahid will join Hakro Merlins Crailsheim in Crailsheim, Germany, playing in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) – the same league as former Bison Sam Griesel.
 
Shahid spent the 2023-24 season on a pair of teams in Italy, including in the top league – Serie A. He averaged 15.9 points per game for Cremona, and put up 14.8 points and 3.1 assists with 40-percent three-point shooting in the FIBA Europe Cup.
 
Shahid captured back-to-back Player of the Year awards in Iceland (2022-23) and France (2021-22).
 
Shahid played for NDSU from 2018-20 after spending two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College. He was named the Summit League Newcomer of the Year and Summit League Tournament MVP as a junior in 2019, then claimed first team All-Summit League honors and Tournament MVP for the second time in 2020.
