The Series
The Bison will face Saint Ambrose, out of the NAIA, for the first time in program history on Friday.

Recent History vs. NAIA
NDSU has played one other NAIA program this season, winning 3-1 at Viterbo in the season opener. Friday will be the first time NDSU has hosted an NAIA program since September 23, 2017, when the Bison defeated Jamestown 2-0.

Wrapping Last Week
The Bison are coming off of a pair of defeats last week. NDSU rallied from a two-goal deficit against Weber State on Thursday, to tie the game, before the visitors scored two late goals to take the win. On Sunday, the Bison hit the crossbar early against Minnesota and forced a couple key saves, but the Gophers scored a second half goal to sneak past the Bison 1-0.

Kavanagh Taking Her Chances
Devon Kavanagh has been a regular starter on the wing this season for the first time in her career. She’s made the most of the opportunity as she added her third goal last week and was the key component to both goals for the Bison. Her corner kick was deflected in for an own goal for the first Bison goal. A minute later, she struck from distance as the junior hit the top right corner from 25+ yards out to tie the game against Weber State.

Prior to this season, the winger had just one assist in her career tally, but the North Vancouver native has already set up three goals this season and scored her first three career goals. Kavanagh’s other two goals have also been vital game winners for NDSU.

What’s Next?
North Dakota State will head back on the road with the first two of three-straight games away from home to open up Summit League play. The Bison will travel to Omaha for the league opener on Thursday, before continuing the journey south to Kansas City to wrap the opening weekend of league play on Sunday.
