Crookston Man Charged After Alleged Shooting Threat
Crookston (trfnews.i234.me) — Justin Michael Blilie faces a felony threats-of-violence charge in Polk County District Court.
Prosecutors say Blilie threatened two people during a confrontation in Crookston on July 26, 2026.
The alleged incident happened near South Main Street around 8:26 p.m.
The felony charge carries up to five years in prison.
It also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.
Two People Report Alleged Threats
Law enforcement responded after receiving a report that a man had threatened to shoot another person.
Investigators spoke with two people identified in the complaint as J.C. and A.M.
They said they were walking near Crooks Club Bar and Bottle Shop.
The complaint alleges Blilie then began yelling at them.
J.C. told authorities that Blilie claimed to have a gun.
Blilie allegedly threatened to shoot the two people, according to the complaint.
A.M. also reported hearing a threat involving being shot in the head.
The complaint says Blilie reached toward his waistband during the confrontation.
A.M. reported seeing him grab or touch something near that area.
No firearm recovery is described in the complaint provided to TRF News.
Blilie Denies Gun Threat
Authorities later contacted Blilie outside his residence.
The complaint says investigators believed he appeared highly intoxicated.
Blilie told authorities he had been walking home before the confrontation.
He said J.C. and A.M. began yelling at him first.
Blilie admitted becoming aggressive and yelling back, according to court records.
However, he denied making threats involving a firearm.
The complaint presents the two reported accounts as part of the probable cause for charging him.
Felony Case Filed in Polk County
Prosecutors charged Blilie under Minnesota Statute 609.713.
The law covers threats to commit crimes of violence with intent to cause terror.
It also covers conduct showing reckless disregard for causing such fear.
The case is filed as State of Minnesota v. Justin Michael Blilie.
The court file number is 60-CR-26-1078 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
