Colorado Springs – Brenda Kaye (Muzzy) Walberg, formerly of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs, CO.

Brenda was born to Lester and Violet (Hanson) Muzzy on August 18, 1952, the eldest of five children. She grew up in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970.
In 1971, Brenda married LeRoy Walberg. The couple moved to Killeen, TX, while LeRoy was stationed at Fort Hood Army Base. They eventually returned to the Thief River Falls area, where their son, Coby, would be born in 1978. Brenda and LeRoy continued to reside in the Grygla/Thief River Falls area until 1984, when they moved to Colorado Springs.
Brenda and LeRoy were both employed by Memorial Hospital, now UC Health Memorial Hospital. Brenda worked as a Health Information Technician for 36 years before retiring in 2022. LeRoy passed away in 1996.
Brenda treasured time spent with family. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening.
Brenda is survived by her son, Coby (Lynn Parker) Walberg of Denver, CO; sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Narlock of Corpus Christi, TX, and Laureen (Mark) Johnson of Erskine; brothers, Darrel (Robyn) Muzzy of Woodbury and Mitchell (Joanie) Muzzy of Menagha; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Dave) Sjulestad of Goodridge and Linda Aspen of Fosston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her parents, Lester and Violet Muzzy; and brother-in-law, Orland Aspen.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Saint Petri Cemetery in Grygla with Rev. Timothy Lundeen.
