Dilworth Walmart Case Brings Stolen Dog, Card Charges
Dilworth (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo woman faces two charges involving an allegedly stolen dog and credit card.
Haylee Marie Starla Martin, 19, is charged in Clay County District Court.
She faces felony receiving stolen property and gross misdemeanor financial transaction card fraud.
The allegations stem from events on April 12, 2026.
Dog And Credit Card Reported Taken
According to the criminal complaint, Martin had been staying at a Fargo residence.
The homeowners later reported that a credit card and their Pomsky dog were missing.
The complaint values the dog at approximately $2,000.
Prosecutors allege Martin had possession of the dog after it was taken from the residence.
The owners also reported unauthorized purchases on the missing credit card.
Investigators received the fraud report several days after the alleged incident.
Walmart Purchases Totaled $92.40
Police learned that several transactions occurred at the Walmart store in Dilworth.
The purchases totaled $92.40, according to the complaint.
Walmart staff provided surveillance footage connected to the transactions.
The video allegedly showed a person making purchases with the card.
The same person was also seen walking a dog inside the store, prosecutors say.
Investigators obtained still images from the surveillance video.
The dog’s owners reviewed those images during the investigation.
They identified Martin as the person shown in the footage, according to the complaint.
They also identified the dog as their missing Pomsky.
Two Charges Filed In Clay County
Martin faces felony receiving stolen property involving the dog.
The charge carries up to five years in prison.
It also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.
The financial transaction card fraud charge carries up to 364 days in jail.
That count also carries a possible fine of up to $3,000.
The case is filed as Clay County court file 14-CR-26-2383.
