GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Grand Forks Police have apprehended a suspect connected to the robbery of an electric scooter earlier this week. The suspect, 35-year-old Ronald F. Vondal-Nelson, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon after a brief but intense chase.
Vondal-Nelson, suspected of stealing a scooter on South Washington Street on Tuesday morning, was spotted by an officer near Orton’s gas station on the 2000 block of South Washington. Upon noticing the officer, Vondal-Nelson attempted to flee on foot, leading police on a pursuit around the gas station and further south. He was ultimately captured without further incident behind Skip’s Budget Drug.
Vondal-Nelson is currently held at the Grand Forks County Jail, facing charges of robbery, preventing arrest, refusal to halt, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
