GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Former North Dakota Senator Ray Holmberg has had two prestigious awards rescinded following his guilty plea to criminal sex acts involving children.
The North Dakota Library Association (NDLA) and the Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC) both revoked honors previously awarded to Holmberg.
The NDLA, which had named Holmberg a Library Champion in 2017 for his advocacy of state libraries, issued a statement on August 14 condemning his actions and emphasizing the importance of protecting children from such behavior.
Similarly, the EERC revoked Holmberg’s Energy Champion Award, citing that his actions violated the principles of integrity and respect that the award represents.
Holmberg’s name has been removed from all associated displays and records as both organizations distance themselves from the disgraced former senator.
