Motorcyclist Injured in Grand Forks Crash; DUI Charges Filed

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A motorcyclist, Zachary Ryba, 32, was injured in a crash on South Washington Street in Grand Forks on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at 6:43 p.m. at the 1500 block of South Washington Street and involved a 2000 Chevy SUV driven by Conrad Smith, 46, and Ryba’s 2004 Honda motorcycle.

According to the Grand Forks Police Department, the Chevrolet SUV was traveling south and attempting to turn east onto 15th Avenue South when it collided with Ryba, who was traveling north on South Washington Street. Smith received a citation for failure to yield.

Ryba was arrested for DUI following the crash and was cited and released with a court date. He was transported to Altru Hospital for medical evaluation. Northbound traffic from 1700 South Washington was diverted for about an hour after the accident.
