POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Nicolle Renee Berg, a 41-year-old resident of Fertile, Minnesota, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree sale of a controlled substance. This plea deal led to the dismissal of four additional charges, including first-degree sale of a controlled substance, two counts of illegal controlled substance taxation, and a gross misdemeanor charge for introducing contraband into a jail.

Berg’s criminal activities came to light when a Polk County sheriff’s deputy worked with a confidential informant who arranged multiple drug transactions with her. In January, Berg sold about 14.4 grams of methamphetamine for $600 in Winger. A subsequent sale in February involved 10.6 grams of methamphetamine for $420 in Red Lake Falls.

In April, law enforcement arrested Berg at a location in Winger after she attempted to evade them. During the arrest, officers found drug paraphernalia, a scale, and two cell phones in her vehicle. At the correctional facility, they discovered approximately 14.8 grams of methamphetamine on her person.

Berg will serve her sentence at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee and has already received credit for 122 days served
