Grant County Crash on I-94 Leaves Fatality

Grant County (trfnews.i234.me) — A fatal three-vehicle crash happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 94 in Erdahl Township.

The crash was reported at about 3:57 p.m. on July 19, 2026. It happened near milepost 80 on eastbound Interstate 94.

Authorities reported that three vehicles were involved in the collision. The crash involved a 2016 Ford Fusion, a 2022 Tesla Model Y, and a 2025 Toyota Crown Signia.

Crash Involved Three Vehicles

The investigation found that the Tesla Model Y and Toyota Crown Signia were traveling eastbound on Interstate 94.

The Ford Fusion was traveling westbound when the Tesla and Ford collided.

After the first crash, the Toyota struck vehicles involved in the collision.

The roadway was dry at the time of the crash. No information was released about weather conditions affecting travel.

The crash was handled with assistance from several emergency agencies. Responding agencies included the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Ashby Fire and Ambulance, Evansville Fire Department, North Memorial EMS, and Lifelink.

Vehicles and Occupants

The Ford Fusion had airbag deployment during the crash. The driver was a 24-year-old man from Jamestown, North Dakota.

The Tesla Model Y also had airbag deployment. The driver was a 73-year-old man from Woodbury, Minnesota.

A 65-year-old woman from Woodbury was listed as a passenger in the Tesla.

The Toyota Crown Signia did not have airbag deployment. The driver was a 63-year-old woman from Mandan, North Dakota.

Authorities said the names of those involved will be released after notification procedures are completed.

Investigation Continues

The crash remains under investigation. Officials are expected to release additional information after families are notified.

Drivers are reminded to use caution on Interstate 94 and remain alert around crash scenes.
