FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Christopher Plenty Chief, 38, was arrested late Sunday, July 28, after a standoff with Fargo police. Charged with multiple felonies, including terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, arson, and domestic violence, Plenty Chief’s arrest follows a dramatic incident at 901 42nd St. S.

The police were called to a domestic dispute where the victim reported that Plenty Chief had physically assaulted and strangled her. She managed to escape to a balcony, but he barricaded himself in the apartment, threatening to set it on fire with lighter fluid if she left. Police used a battering ram to break into the apartment, which he had barricaded.

Plenty Chief has a lengthy criminal history related to domestic violence. He was released from federal prison in October after serving nearly five years for a 2016 assault in South Dakota. He has faced multiple domestic violence charges in North Dakota, including a recent brief jail stay in February.

He was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.
