GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – On July 29, Andrew Harlan Stenerson, 33, of Grafton, was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to a Class A felony charge of conspiracy to deliver or possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a correctional facility. The sentence, part of a plea agreement, includes a total of 20 years, with 12 years suspended, and five years of supervised probation following his release.
The charges stem from an incident in April, where Grand Forks County Correctional Center staff found Suboxone strips hidden in the seam of an envelope sent to an inmate. Suboxone, containing buprenorphine and naloxone, is used to treat opioid use disorder. An informant within the jail reported that Stenerson had arranged for these strips to be sent to inmates in his unit. Elaine Alexis Longtine, alleged to have supplied the Suboxone, is also charged and faces up to 20 years in prison, with her final dispositional conference scheduled for September 19.
Stenerson is required to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and comply with its recommendations. He has already served 98 days in jail, which will be credited towards his sentence.
