Moorhead Woman Charged in Infant Abuse Case
MOORHEAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead woman faces four felony charges involving the alleged abuse of two infant girls.
Kimberly Faith Christy, 37, is charged in Clay County District Court. She faces two first-degree criminal sexual conduct counts. She also faces two counts involving a minor in a sexual performance.
Charges Follow Email to Prosecutors
Charging documents say the Clay County Attorney’s Office received an email on June 28. Investigators believed the email came from Christy.
The sender offered to surrender and included a QR code. The code reportedly opened a Google Photos account.
Investigators said the account contained four videos and two images. The files allegedly showed sexual abuse involving two very young children.
The alleged recordings were created during separate periods, according to court documents. Two videos were dated November 2013. Two others were dated March 2018.
The documents also described images dated October 2019. Authorities said the files involved children younger than three years old.

Statement to Investigators
Court documents say Christy later spoke with investigators. Authorities said she admitted committing the acts shown in the recordings.
The case remains pending in Clay County District Court. Public court information is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
Some documents may also be available through official Minnesota court record systems.
Possible Penalties
A conviction for first-degree criminal sexual conduct may carry severe penalties. Minnesota law allows up to 30 years in prison.
The law also allows a fine of up to $40,000. The other felony charges may carry up to 10 years in prison.
Each count may also bring a fine of up to $20,000. The related law is listed under Minnesota Statute 617.246.
Any sentence would be decided by the court after a conviction. Sentencing can depend on state guidelines and case facts.
Christy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Charges describe accusations and do not establish guilt.
