John Mayall, the legendary British blues musician known as the “Godfather of British Blues,” has passed away at the age of 90.
Mayall died at his home in California on Monday, as confirmed by a statement from his family. A pioneering figure in the blues genre, Mayall was best known for his band, the Bluesbreakers, which served as a launching pad for many famous musicians, including Eric Clapton, Peter Green, and Mick Fleetwood.
His career spanned nearly seven decades, during which he influenced countless artists and helped shape the British blues movement.
