Sean Perry Sargent was charged in Mahnomen County District Court. The complaint lists the offense date as October 14, 2025.
Prosecutors charged Sargent with domestic assault involving a later violation. The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.2242.
Woman Reported Being Kicked
According to the complaint, law enforcement responded after receiving an assault report. The alleged victim had gone to a nearby home.
She told a deputy that Sargent, her brother, kicked her in the stomach. She said the incident happened at their mother’s home.
The woman said she had been sleeping before the alleged assault. She then left the home to seek help.
She first went to a neighbor and asked someone to call the police. That neighbor refused to help, the complaint says.
