East Grand Forks Man Charged in Harassment Case
EAST GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) — A local man faces two gross misdemeanor harassment charges in Polk County District Court.
Cory Will Hanson, 35, was charged with two counts involving separate victims. The alleged offenses happened on June 15, 2026, according to the criminal complaint.
Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail. Each count also carries a possible $3,000 fine.
Repeated Visits Alleged
The complaint says police received several reports involving Hanson over two days.
Officers were first called to a family residence late on June 14. The report involved a street argument between Hanson and his father.
Hanson was then told to leave the property, according to the complaint.
Police returned early on June 15 after another family member reported activity outside a window. The complaint says Hanson allegedly shined a light through the window.

Later that evening, officers received another report from a home on Sixth Avenue Southeast. Hanson’s father and his father’s girlfriend said Hanson had entered the residence.
They told police he discussed papers that did not exist. They also said his comments were difficult to understand.
Family Members Report Fear and Lost Sleep
The two residents said Hanson had repeatedly circled family homes. They also accused him of parking outside and watching the properties.
Both residents told police they felt harassed and stalked. One resident said the incidents had caused serious sleep loss.
She also reported leaving work early because she was exhausted.
Police later learned Hanson was parked in a driveway at another family residence. Officers found him there and arrested him.
Charges Remain Allegations
Prosecutors allege Hanson followed, monitored, or pursued both victims. They claim he acted with the intent to harass or intimidate them.
The charges were filed under Minnesota’s harassment and stalking law. The case is filed as 60-CR-26-831 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
The public can review available information through Minnesota Court Records Online.
A criminal complaint contains allegations, not proof of guilt. Hanson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
