Argusville I-29 Crash Kills Fargo Pedestrian
ARGUSVILLE, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man died early Friday after being struck by a semi on Interstate 29 in Cass County.
The crash happened at about 3:45 a.m. Friday, June 5. It was reported near mile marker 79 on I-29. That area is about one mile north of Argusville.
According to the North Dakota State Patrol, a 2025 Freightliner was traveling south on I-29. The truck was pulling a 2026 utility van trailer.
Investigators said the Freightliner was in the right lane when a pedestrian entered the roadway. The truck then struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was a 71-year-old man from Fargo. He died at the scene.
The driver was not injured
The Freightliner driver was a 45-year-old man from St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was not hurt in the crash.
Authorities said the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
Road conditions were listed as dry at the time. Weather conditions were clear, but it was dark.
The crash remains under investigation by law enforcement.
Agencies Responded To The Scene
Several agencies responded to the fatal crash. They included the North Dakota State Patrol, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and the Harwood Fire Department.
Officials have not released the pedestrian’s name. Authorities often wait to notify the family before releasing a victim’s identity.
Drivers were urged to use caution in the area after the crash. No other injuries were reported.
