Detroit Lakes Driver Charged In Interlock Case

Detroit Lakes (trfnews.i234.me) – Phoenix Karyn-Evonne Badboy is facing a gross misdemeanor charge in Becker County District Court.

The case stems from an April 16, 2026, traffic stop in Detroit Lakes.

According to the criminal complaint, Badboy is charged with violating an ignition interlock restriction.

Authorities said two large signs were taped to the rear window.

The complaint says the signs limited the driver’s rear view.

Badboy was identified as the driver during the stop.

According to the complaint, Badboy’s driving privileges carried an ignition interlock restriction.

Ignition Interlock Allegation

Minnesota law requires some restricted drivers to use a certified ignition interlock device.

State law describes the ignition interlock program under Minnesota Statute 171.306.

The complaint alleges the Chevrolet Classic did not have a working ignition interlock device installed.

Badboy is charged with being in physical control of a vehicle without the required device.
