Bemidji Woman Charged In Domestic Assault Case

Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman is facing a misdemeanor domestic assault charge after a reported family incident in December.

Carlene Rose Hurd, 38, of Bemidji, is charged in Beltrami County District Court. The case was filed in Minnesota’s 9th Judicial District.

The charge is domestic assault-misdemeanor. Court documents say the case involves an allegation of intentionally inflicting, or trying to inflict, bodily harm on a family or household member.

The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 609.2242. The complaint lists the maximum sentence as up to 90 days in jail. It also lists a possible fine of up to $1,000.

Complaint Details

According to the criminal complaint, the reported incident happened on December 19, 2025. Authorities were called at about 6:33 p.m. to a report of an assault on Pershing Avenue SE in Bemidji.

When police arrived, they spoke with a 15-year-old girl outside the home. The complaint says the girl was crying and had blood coming from her nose.

The girl told police that Hurd, who is her mother, had hit her. The complaint says Hurd later told police she had been at the home with Jamie Hurd and Chrystal Hurd.

Hurd said the people at the residence had been drinking. She also told police she tried to stop Jamie Hurd from leaving. Hurd claimed Jamie Hurd assaulted her.

Teen Described Phone And Tumblr Incident

The complaint says police spoke again with the teen. She said Hurd had been assaulted by Jamie Hurd before Jamie Hurd and Chrystal Hurd left the home.

After they left, Hurd allegedly received a phone call from the teen’s school. The complaint says Hurd became upset after that call.

The teen alleged Hurd threw a phone at her face. The complaint says the phone struck the teen above the eye.

The teen also told police Hurd picked up a metal tumbler. She described it as a water bottle with a handle.

The complaint alleges that Hurd then began striking the teen with the tumbler. The teen said she used her arms to block the blows.

The complaint also says the teen reported twisting her ankle during the incident.

Case Remains Pending

Hurd has been charged by summons in Beltrami County District Court. A criminal complaint is not a conviction.

The allegations must be proven in court. Case information may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online.
