Stolen Vehicle Alert On Highway 59
According to court records, the case began on Dec. 24, 2025.
Law enforcement received an alert about a stolen vehicle on Highway 59 in Detroit Lakes.
The alert came from Flock cameras used by the Detroit Lakes Police Department.
The cameras are part of an automatic license plate reader system.
Police use the system for crime prevention and investigations.
More information about license plate reader technology is available from Flock Safety.
The vehicle was listed as a silver 2019 Buick Envision.
Court records say the Buick had been stolen in Minneapolis.
A Becker County deputy and other officers responded to the alert.
They stopped the Buick on Highway 59 in Callaway.

False Name Given During Stop
Court records say Blood was driving the Buick when it was stopped.
She first gave officers a family member’s name.
She also gave an incorrect date of birth.
Officers later identified the driver as Julie Ann Blood.
Blood told a deputy that a friend known as “Kangaroo” gave her the vehicle.
She said she had met him about a week and a half earlier.
Blood said he asked her to hold the car for a few days.
She also said he texted her to pick him up in Mahnomen.
She said the pickup location was at the casino.
Blood told officers she then assumed the Buick was stolen.
That information was later confirmed by law enforcement.
She did not provide officers with “Kangaroo’s” real name.

Officers also confirmed Blood’s driving privileges were canceled.
They also found she had multiple warrants for her arrest.
The case was handled in Becker County District Court.
On April 10, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony sentenced Blood to 90 days in jail.
That jail time was stayed for two years.
Blood was also fined $500.
She must pay another $160 in court fees.
