Thief River Falls Court Roundup: DWI, Theft Cases

Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — Several area court cases were recently resolved in Thief River Falls and Pennington County.

The list includes DWI cases, dismissed charges, traffic citations, probation terms, and a hunting violation. The cases involved the Thief River Falls Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Thief River Falls Police Department Cases

Jordi Allen Lancette, 34, of Roseau, had a felony theft charge dismissed.

Shawn Pierre Belland II, 37, of Viking, was sentenced for driving while impaired. He was fined $560. A 90-day jail sentence was stayed for two years. The sentence must be served after another case. Belland was placed on unsupervised probation for two years.

Joshua Ray Moreno, 27, of Thief River Falls, had two driving after revocation charges dismissed. A domestic assault charge was also dismissed.

Devin Scott Roy, 40, of Minneapolis, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor aiding and abetting felony theft. He was fined $210. A 364-day jail sentence was stayed for two years. Roy was placed on probation to the court for two years. A charge of giving a false name to an officer was dismissed.

Neil Alden Carlson, 53, of Thief River Falls, was sentenced for fourth-degree DWI. He was fined $685. A 90-day jail sentence was stayed for two years. Carlson was placed on probation for two years.

Carlson must complete a comprehensive assessment within 60 days. He must also complete treatment and aftercare if recommended. A stay of adjudication was entered for driving after cancellation.

Soudsakhone Chitmany, 43, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, had two charges dismissed. The charges were disorderly conduct and harassment involving a restraining order violation.

Andrew Scott Brons, 38, of Newfolden, was sentenced for DWI. He was fined $610. He received 364 days in jail, with 334 days stayed for two years. Brons was placed on unsupervised probation for two years. Electronic home monitoring privileges were allowed. A chemical assessment was also ordered.

Lyle Keith Benais, 37, of Thief River Falls, was sentenced for disorderly conduct. He was fined $210. A 30-day jail sentence was stayed for one year. Benais was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. He must complete a comprehensive assessment within 60 days.

Cristian Guzman, of Thief River Falls, was fined $52 for a calendar parking violation. Kyle Adam Keefe, 29, of Thief River Falls, was fined $285 for driving after suspension.

Pennington County Sheriff’s Office Case

Soudsakhone Chitmany, 43, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, had a disorderly conduct charge dismissed.

Minnesota State Patrol Cases

Jaymin Elizabeth Klosterman, 21, of Ottertail, was fined $125 for driving 60 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Franklin Samuel Gonzales Ruiz, 29, of Thief River Falls, was fined $185 for no driver’s license. He was also fined $200 for no proof of insurance.

Alexie Kay Burkholder, 38, of Thief River Falls, was fined $125 for driving 70 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Vanessa Bryce Gillie, 35, of Thief River Falls, was fined $135 for violating the Hands-Free Law.

Minnesota DNR Case

Cody Lee Robinson, 45, of Big Lake, was cited in a Minnesota DNR case. He was fined $185 for taking a deer with an invalid bonus permit.
