Beltrami County Woman Faces Assault Charges

Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) — Monica Marie Fisher, 21, of Duluth, is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault in Beltrami County.

The case was filed in the Minnesota District Court in Beltrami County. The court file number is 04-CR-26-1018.

According to the criminal complaint, deputies were sent to Mission Road SE on May 2, 2026. The call came in around 7:49 p.m.

Dispatch reported an assault between two women. The complaint states Fisher and the alleged victim were in an intimate relationship.

Deputies Report Injuries At Scene

When deputies arrived, they found a woman walking away from the area. The complaint says she had blood on her face and sweatshirt.

That woman was identified as Fisher. Deputies reported that she smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot, watery eyes.

The complaint says the alleged victim had injuries to her face. Those injuries included bruising and a cut lip.

Court records state Fisher and the alleged victim had just been released from treatment before the incident.

Officer Assault Allegations

Deputies allege Fisher became uncooperative during the arrest. The complaint says she tried to pull away from law enforcement.

While being taken to a patrol vehicle, Fisher allegedly began kicking at deputies. Officers then carried her to the vehicle.

The complaint says Fisher refused to enter the squad car. Once inside, she allegedly kicked the panels and windows.

During the arrest process, Fisher allegedly spat on a peace officer. The complaint also alleges she physically assaulted a peace officer.

Charges Filed In Court

Fisher is charged with gross misdemeanor domestic assault as a subsequent violation. The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.2242.

She is also charged with felony fourth-degree assault of a peace officer. That charge involves allegedly transferring bodily fluids.

The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison. It also carries a possible $6,000 fine.

Fisher also faces a gross misdemeanor fourth-degree assault charge. That count alleges she physically assaulted a peace officer.
