McGregor Man Charged After Replica Gun Threat

Aitkin County (trfnews.i234.me) — A McGregor, Minnesota, man is facing felony charges. Authorities say he threatened a woman with what looked like a handgun during a dispute.

McGregor is a city in Aitkin County, Minnesota. Prosecutors say the case is based on allegations in a criminal complaint.

According to court documents, a deputy responded to a domestic call on December 9. The reporting party said Carlos James Taylor Jr., of McGregor, grabbed her and kissed her hand.

She also alleged he touched her breast over her clothing. The complaint says Taylor then pointed a handgun at her. She said he threatened to shoot.

The complaint states a child was present during the incident.

Arrest and evidence

Court records say Taylor was arrested the next day at his home. Investigators say he handed a deputy a Glock-style BB gun. The complaint describes it as a replica firearm.

During booking, authorities say a single 9mm bullet was found on Taylor.

Charges filed

Taylor is charged with three felony counts tied to threats of violence. Court records describe allegations often called terroristic threats. The complaint also lists an alleged attempt to cause terror.

Another felony count alleges threats of violence involving the display of a replica firearm. Taylor also faces a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

Criminal charges are allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
