Roseau County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Menahga teen has been sentenced to 180 days in jail in a child sexual conduct case.
Colton Johnathon Skare, 19, was sentenced Tuesday, April 28, in Roseau County court.
Skare pleaded guilty in February to second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
He was first charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
One charge was later amended to the lesser second-degree offense.
The second charge was dismissed under a plea agreement.
Case Involved Two Girls
According to a statement of probable cause, Skare was charged with Leeroy Elmer Kicker.
Kicker was sentenced March 30 to 180 days in jail.
The two were arrested in June after being found in a room with two girls.
The girls were ages 13 and 12, according to the court filing.
Skare admitted to sexual contact with the 12-year-old girl, the statement said.
He told authorities he thought she was 18, according to the filing.

Probation And Restrictions Ordered
Although Skare pleaded guilty to a felony, the judge granted a stay of imposition.
That means the conviction may become a misdemeanor if he completes probation.
Skare was placed on four years of supervised probation.
His probation terms include a psychosexual evaluation and related recommendations.
He must also complete a comprehensive assessment, cognitive skill training, and sex offender treatment.
Individual therapy was also ordered as part of his probation.
Skare may not contact the victim or her family.
He also may not have contact with anyone under 18 without approval.
That approval must come from his probation agent or treatment team.
Internet And Social Media Limits
Skare is also barred from using the internet without approval.
He may not use social media during probation.
He also may not possess sexually explicit materials.
Skare must report to the Roseau County Jail by 5 p.m. May 29.
He will begin serving his 180-day jail sentence at that time.
If he qualifies, he may serve the sentence through work release.
A similar jail program could also be allowed.
