Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Warroad man is facing two gross misdemeanor DWI charges after a late-night traffic stop in Roseau County, according to a criminal complaint.
Court records identify the defendant as Ryan Gardner Lundquist, 42, of Warroad. The complaint says the stop happened on March 14, 2026, at about 11:42 p.m. on Highway 11 near 580th Avenue.

What the complaint says
According to the complaint, a deputy saw a white pickup traveling west on Highway 11. Radar showed the truck at 68 mph. Rear radar then showed 72 mph, the complaint states.
The complaint says the driver did not stop at once after emergency lights were activated. The vehicle continued and then pulled into Pine Ridge Liquor.
When the deputy made contact, the complaint says there was a smell of alcohol from the vehicle. The driver also showed slurred speech and slow movement, according to the filing.
The complaint says Lundquist told the deputy he had two drinks and was driving home from Breaker’s. He also said he was not intoxicated.
After getting out of the vehicle, Lundquist showed an unsteady gait, the complaint states. He then took part in field sobriety testing. The filing says those tests showed signs of impairment.
Test results and arrest
The complaint says Lundquist gave a preliminary breath test of .282. After his arrest, he was taken to the detention center.
There, the complaint says he was read the breath test advisory. He later gave a DataMaster breath sample of .25.
Investigators also reported finding open and empty alcohol containers inside the vehicle. Those items included a beer can, an empty Smirnoff can, and an empty Rolling Rock bottle, according to the complaint.
Charges filed
Lundquist is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more within two hours. Both charges are listed as gross misdemeanors.
The complaint also says an aggravating factor was present because the reported alcohol concentration was .16 or more. Under Minnesota law, gross misdemeanor DWI charges can carry up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine. You can read the law here: Minnesota Statute 169A.20 and Minnesota Statute 169A.26.
The case was filed in Minnesota Judicial Branch court records in Roseau County. Criminal charges are accusations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
