Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls burglary case from 2022 has led to a felony charge against Isaac Granados, according to a criminal complaint filed in Pennington County District Court.

Granados, 35, is charged with aiding and abetting second-degree burglary. The charge stems from a reported break-in on Jan. 23, 2022, at a home on Nightingale Road.

Burglary reported at Nightingale Road home

According to the complaint, the homeowners told authorities they left for work at about 2 p.m. They returned at about 8:15 p.m. and found their home had been burglarized.

Court records say an entry was made through the back door. Investigators reported pry marks near the door trim. They also found footprints in the snow leading from the garage area to the back of the house.

The complaint says the home appeared to be ransacked. The homeowners reported several missing items. Those items included a Louis Vuitton purse, headphones, gift cards, coin rolls, a wallet, a camera lens, an Apple MacBook, dolls, jewelry, and three red suitcases.

Video and location data cited in the complaint

The complaint says a living room camera recorded a silver four-door sedan arriving at the home at 5:33 p.m. A nearby homeowner also reported seeing a small gray or silver sedan driving past with its trunk partly open.

Investigators later obtained search warrants for GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular location data tied to the area. The complaint says one device moved in a path that matched the reported route of the burglars.

That device was later traced to an account connected to Isaac Granados, according to the complaint.

Hotel surveillance is also listed

The complaint also cites surveillance from 7 Clans Casino Hotel. A hotel security worker, Jeremy Asp, told investigators Granados and two other people checked in around 7:14 p.m. that day.

Video reviewed by investigators allegedly showed three males carrying several items into the hotel. The complaint says those items included two red suitcases. The homeowners later described their missing suitcases as red, with front zipper pockets and wheels.

Under Minnesota Statute 609.582 and Minnesota Statute 609.05, the charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine, or both.

The case remains a charge, and Granados is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. More information on Minnesota courts is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
