Lake of the Woods (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update regarding the fish house incident on Lake of the Woods reported earlier this morning. A viewer has shared that the fish house fell through the ice in just 3 feet of water near Springsteel Resort, located outside of Warroad. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and everyone involved is safe.
The initial emergency response included a request for a 1021 (code for “check in with”) to the owner of the fish house. Thankfully, it was confirmed that everyone is accounted for and unharmed.
While the ice conditions in the area were reportedly unstable, the shallow depth of the water at the incident location likely helped prevent more serious consequences. Local authorities and emergency responders were on scene to ensure the situation was handled appropriately.
