Marcie Lee Moe age 65, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, formerly of Grygla, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 10, 1959 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Marcie was the beloved daughter of Adrian Severance . and Edna Irene (Christianson) ..
Marcie was baptized at St. Petri Lutheran Church in rural Grygla and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church.
Marcie graduated from Grygla High School in 1977. She was married to Gordy Moe in 1978 at Grace Lutheran Church. To this union two daughters were born, Kelsie and Bethany.
Marcie was known for her quick wit and generous heart. She had a way of making everyone around her know how much they mattered. Marcie was a stay at home mom until her kids started school. Then she worked full time at the Grygla School until she retired in 2023, leaving behind generations of students whose lives she helped shape with wisdom and unwavering dedication.
Marcie brought the same passion and care to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was being “Nana”. Gordy and Marcie decided it was time to move closer to their grandchildren. They fixed up a place in East Grand Forks and made it their home.
Marcie loved spending time with her family. Grygla and her school family were very special to her also. She was an avid Charger fan and watched them whenever she could.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon “Gordy” Moe of East Grand Forks; Kelsie (Josh) Saunders of Grand Rapids, MN and Bethany (Daniel) Abrahamson of East Grand Forks,MN; grandchildren Aiden and Adlee; mother-in-law Barbara Picolet of Grygla, MN; siblings-in law Tony (Connie) Moe, Cyndi (Rick Carlson) Nordby, James (Lisa) Moe, Jill (Steve) Birkholz, Wayne (Jeri) Nomeland; Godchildren, Jennifer Ewald, Erika Bowen, Tausha Severts, Kimberly Sund, Jayce Olson, Avery Moe: and many other relatives and friends.
Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jeffrey; father-in-law Raymond Moe, and her stepfathers-in-law Sheldon Nomeland, and Bernie Picolet.
Marcie’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation will start at 9:30 am with the service to celebrate Marcie’s life at 10:30 am on Saturday December 6, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until 6 pm with a 5 pm prayer service on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. Petri Cemetery rural Grygla.
