Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) A Grand Forks man faces multiple charges after police say he chased another man with a knife outside a local bar early Saturday morning.

Court documents state officers were called to Denny’s Tavern at 12:35 a.m. on November 16. The victim said he and Jerome Kadlec had been out drinking before returning to the bar. The victim reported that Kadlec “lost his temper” once they got out of Kadlec’s vehicle.

The victim told police that Kadlec revealed a knife and said he was going to kill him. He said Kadlec raised the knife over his head with the blade pointed forward and chased him toward the bar. The victim ran inside, and Kadlec followed him before both were ordered outside by the bartender.

The victim said he believed he shoved and punched Kadlec while trying to defend himself. He told officers he feared for his life during the chase and the fight.

Police later found Kadlec slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. Officers also reported finding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Kadlec now faces several charges, including attempted aggravated assault and terrorizing. He also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, actual physical control, and simple assault.
