Detroit Lakes Teen Sentenced in Becker Assault Case
Becker County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Detroit Lakes teen has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of felony domestic assault in Becker County.
According to court records, Nathan Arthur Meyer Jr., 19, was arrested following an assault on November 5, 2024. Deputies responded to a home on County Highway 21 after receiving a report of a domestic incident.
Investigators said Meyer and a woman, with whom he was in a relationship, were arguing when Meyer allegedly punched her in the head four or five times. A witness confirmed seeing the assault and called 911. Meyer at first denied striking the woman, according to the criminal complaint.
On October 9, Becker County District Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony sentenced Meyer to 15 months in state prison at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. He was granted 187 days of jail credit for time already served.
Meyer was also ordered to pay $210 in fines and fees, which will be deducted from his prison wages. Upon release, he will remain under state supervision as required by Minnesota sentencing guidelines.
