OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Wadena woman survived a serious-looking crash on Highway 10 near Perham, Minnesota, late Tuesday afternoon, suffering only non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred on October 7 when both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 10 in Pine Lake Township, Otter Tail County. A 2018 Ford Focus driven by Amber Marie Larson, 28, of Wadena, rear-ended a 2001 Sterling straight truck driven by Kenneth Dean Betts, 40, of New York Mills.
Authorities say Larson was wearing her seat belt at the time and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for evaluation. Betts was not injured in the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that airbags had deployed in Larson’s vehicle and that alcohol was not a factor. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and road conditions were dry.
The crash, which happened around 4:05 p.m., caused significant damage to the Ford Focus but resulted in no additional injuries. Witnesses described the scene as severe, but responders confirmed the outcome was far less tragic than it appeared.
Responding agencies included the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and local emergency crews. The case remains under review by the Minnesota State Patrol’s District 2900 – Detroit Lakes.
