Oakdale, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A 26-year-old St. Paul man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges stemming from a March 2024 standoff in Oakdale, during which he allegedly fired at police before barricading himself inside a home.

Devione Leeante Malone, of Saint Paul, pleaded guilty this week to two counts of first-degree attempted murder, four counts of first-degree assault, and one count of illegally possessing a firearm.

As part of the plea deal, charges in two separate assault cases will be dismissed, though Malone will still be required to pay restitution in those cases.

According to court records, on March 11, 2024, officers responded to a 911 call reporting Malone was in a vehicle with a woman he was legally prohibited from contacting under a no-contact order. The woman had her one-year-old granddaughter with her at the time, and the caller expressed concerns that Malone may be armed.

When officers located the vehicle and attempted to intervene, Malone drove to a nearby residence, exited the vehicle, and fired a shot at an officer before fleeing into the home. The officer returned fire, but no one was hit or injured.

Malone barricaded himself inside the residence for several hours before surrendering peacefully.

Malone is scheduled to be sentenced on November 7.
